| Through my work with children and adults, I have seen that YES education is important, BUT equally important is preserving and nurturing the self-esteem and spirit of the student. As we acknowledge and genuinely respect students, I have found that they respect themselves, they respect others and become interested in making a positive contribution to the world, instead of being observers or diminishers of others who live their dreams. I know that music moves students and I like to engage as many senses as I can while teaching. Because each student has a different learning style, using a multi-modality approach more students get what they need and we all are happy. Carol A. Nelson |
